Are You Kind to Yourself?

Kripalu – Lenox, MA

One of the exercises Ken Nelson and I will take the retreat group through during Grand Renewal is an improv experience based on real life.

In essence, it’s an opportunity to look at a scenario you’ve experienced through a distant lens. It’s tricky to describe, but imagine peering through the window of your home or place of business, seeing yourself and the players in a particular instance that may have given you pause, and re-experiencing it as a witness.

Whether it’s an uncomfortable conversation with family members, a re-creation of a scene with a boss or employee, or a situation with friends that keeps you up at night, acting it out and watching it play through has an extraordinary effect. Having experienced it myself when I was a participant at a different Kripalu workshop, it was memorable and life-altering.

Karen McCann, a November retreat attendee, shared these words, “I came home with a renewed sense of purpose to be kind to myself and gentler in how I approach my family and the ‘holiday’ drama. I also learned to trust my instincts and that inner voice.”

When you give yourself a moment to take a step back from your life and observe how you operate in the world, there’s a shift.

If you’d like to experience your own shift, make 2017 just better than 2016, join me and Ken at Kripalu. It’s a warm haven in the rolling hills of Lenox, Massachusetts with gorgeous food choices (both vegetarian and non), a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, and a group of new friends you’ll soon meet.

Are you thinking about it? Let’s talk! There’s still space.
