I don’t know how you are about having your headshot taken, but chances are, it’s not high on your list of priorities. Yes, we see your candids all the time on Facebook, but you may be more like me on the professional side and put off updating your marketing images for, say, five years.
After my wonderful experience last Friday, I’m sorry I waited so long.
Not that it’s a snap to prepare for this part of your visibility strategy. I placed my call to photographer extraordinaire – Katie Settel – about a month ago. Of course, I had to get my hair cut, figure out wardrobe (thank you, Scarlett DeBease), have my eyebrows waxed and get a pedicure. I know, I know. My toes don’t show, but I’m using the Method technique of headshot-taking. I have to feel like the total pro.
Then there’s the schlepping to Connecticut by train with 4 changes of cool weather clothes on a hot summer day. Blah, blah, blah. See where I’m going here? There’s a lot of muck and mire to trek through to have a great outcome.
Once in Bridgeport, Katie put me totally at ease. I put on outfit #1 as she selected upbeat music for this Baby Boomer – Graceland, please – to play while we worked. That was most effective. I’m not used to staring into a lens, so while dancing around the first studio location, I began to relax.
Katie’s building has multiple backdrops for inspiration. Since I’m not a corporate coach, I’m able to wear funkier outfits and pose in non-traditional ways. I trust that my clients and prospects will ‘get’ who I am by my style. Anyone who rejects these images wouldn’t be a good fit.
I highly recommend Katie’s services. She’s offering special pricing for anyone I refer. Please use the word Remarkable when you contact her and she’ll give you a nice discount.
Here are the rest of the images I chose to own. Thanks for reading all the way through. This is your reward 😉
