I’m not going away, entrepreneurially speaking, but I am shifting where my energy is being directed these days.
If you’ve been following me, and I know what an amazingly loyal readership I’ve been privileged to address since 2008, you’ve read about my baby business, Jane Pollak Designs. It’s now a year old and is taking on a life of its own. I have an etsy shop, a website, and a growing audience (close to 1100 followers) on Instagram–a platform I have come to know and love.
As a solopreneur, there are only so many social media one can single-handedly populate. Yes, I have a team who supports me. But even directing my staff requires focus and time. Since we all know that a picture is worth a thousand words, I’ve grown far more prolific visually than I have through my blog articles and newsletters. As long as I’m tossing around cliches, my posted actions speak louder than words. I’ve gotten more coaching clients as a result of my IG activity than via my written messages.
So this post is not goodbye, but rather an invitation to you to follow me on IG or friend me on Facebook. I post almost daily and include reels and videos. I’m constantly educating myself because mastering a new platform does not come easily to this digital immigrant. I just signed up for a 5-week course to learn more about Instagram and Canva. I’m delving into offering a contest on IG, and have a branding strategist guiding me through the creation of monthly videos to send to the Interior Design world and my IG followers.
My enthusiasm for this enterprise is fueling my coaching practice. My tagline has been “leading remarkable women to uncommon success” for over a decade now. I consider it my job to stay one step ahead of those I coach. I do this by following my passion, as I encourage my clients to follow theirs. The lessons I’m learning are transferrable even if our industries are different.
I will occasionally write about issues or stories that don’t fit into a 1080×1080 square. To keep up with me more often, though, please follow me on one of these media. I promise a unique ride.
Sounds like a great way to share more with us. I enjoy reading your e-mail messages and look forward to hearing more from you on FB/your blog.
I retired my LifeMoves Moving Management business after 20 years and a book, at 2019 years end. I still maintain my R.N. license in CT but because of Covid and a recent total knee replacement, have put my next steps on hold. Besides that, my husband and I sold our Hartford condo this summer and moved to our dream spot 15 minutes away. We hope to share our extra spaces with clients in the future. We live on one serene acre with a large spring fed pond surrounded by large pine trees. A beautiful blue heron swoops down to feed.
Thank you for sharing your journey. I am inspired by your stories of success.
@Karen What you describe sounds idyllic and an attraction to those who want/need what you’ve created. Congratulations! May you continue to reap what you have so generously sown.
You are indeed a remarkable woman Jane!! Always inspiring to learn of (and from) your next adventures. All the best to you. See you on IG/Facebook!
@Dawn You deserve tons of credit for my accelerated journey, Dawn. You’ve given me not only physical materials, but also leads and direction that are invaluable. Thank you.
