Maria Scrivan called me giddy with laughter six months ago when the title of my memoir, Too Much of Not Enough, was announced. "You won't believe this!" she said, although I always have my ear to the ground for the Universe's creative miracles of coincidence. "I...
I'm fortunate to report to a spiritual action partner on Fridays. Today in our texted exchange I wrote that I haven't blogged in several days and wasn't feeling inspired lately. I'd had a great rush of activity, notice and praise around the publication of my...
Mother's Day was always a challenge for me. I'm excited to have an article I've written about it published by BookTrib. Would love to hear from you how you celebrate (or don't). As a young adult, I spent more time than most pondering the selection of Mother’s Day...
Oh, how I love social media! It allowed Jeffrey Shaw and me to reconnect after many, many years. He'd seen mention of my upcoming memoir Too Much of Not Enough on LinkedIn and promptly messaged me about sitting for an interview. Jeffrey has created an enormous...
The book is out, readings are beginning, and I'm in a heightened state of joy, but also craziness. For the past few days I've been truly whacko. I made a black bean soup that called for canned chipotle peppers in a hot sauce which I dutifully added to the recipe....
Can you imagine conducting a seminar in China? For weeks before flying to Shanghai, my friend and colleague Rebecca Welz was abuzz with excitement and joy in preparation for hers. She'd been invited by her student at Pratt Institute to conduct a workshop in China...
La Leche League began in 1956, only 18 years before I became a member. I am forever grateful to the mothers who formed that group for the sake of supporting and uplifting women who choose to breastfeed their babies. I attended my first meeting in May, 1974, late in...
In less than two weeks my new book Too Much of Not Enough will be published and I will enter a new realm, kinda like being in the 9th month of pregnancy. Though I've been carrying this baby for nearly five years, and it feels way overdue. Have you ever noticed that...
What a gift to hear these words from my beloved and long-term client Susan Beallor Snyder: "I actually know what I want, what makes me happy. I am so at peace, so at home. I know what my purpose is: to create art and to bring beauty into the world." Susan and I...
The Women's Media Group (WMG) provides content-rich programming that I am fully taking advantage of. If you're a writer of any kind, this info will be useful to you. At last week's noon hour event entitled Beyond the Book: How Authors, Publishers and Agents are...
The last time I was in this big a professional transition was the early 2000's when I declared that I would no longer be decorating eggs. After 30+ years as The Egg Lady - a name I always hated, but respected because it was memorable - I let go of being a craft...
Accidentally Brave is a one-woman show written by and starring Maddie Corman. The title is apt as the actress/playwright was hurled into a life-changing trauma she had not signed up for. Her courage and fortitude to face her new life script are evident throughout...
I'm so excited to announce a promotion I've created to stir up excitement about my memoir coming out next month. You can go on Goodreads and enter my giveaway of TEN advanced reader copies before my April 30 pub date. Be the first on your block to have a copy of...
This Sunday, March 17, marks 8 years since my divorce. Lots has changed since then, much of which is covered in my upcoming memoir Too Much of Not Enough. But the feelings from that day, in the courtroom, are easily remembered. Because I’m a coach by profession I...
This week, actor and entertainer Andrew Rannells’ memoir launched. Its title is Too Much Is Not Enough: A Memoir of Fumbling Toward Adulthood. If that sounds somewhat familiar, it’s because the title of my memoir is Too Much OF Not Enough. The difference between IS...
