I just came back from seeing Every Little Step, a documentary film about the re-making of A Chorus Line on Broadway. You get to see hundreds of the world's most talented singers and dancers compete for 24 roles. The auditioners see their competition and the...
The New England Women Business Owners (NEWBO) honored me this week with its Woman of Distinction Award. I received the call from Gretje Ferguson--a member of the nominating committee-- back in the dark, cold days of February. It wasn't something I'd applied for or...
Brad Isaacs and I had our first West Coast offer of an Invitation to Get Real workshop scheduled in Santa Barbara May 7--last Thursday. Amidst reports of wild fires, we drove down the coast (from Brad's home in San Luis Obispo) only to see the city obscured by...
Shortly after posting my May 1 entry about verbalizing what I need in relationships, I was heading into NYC for the day. Having heard the weather prediction, I packed the cute little fold-up umbrella my daughter-in-law's family gave me for Christmas. It was the...
Malene Barnett raved about the PR person who recently helped her define the right market niche and figure out which media to pursue. Malene was so excited and motivated that I wanted to discover more about this wondrous resource. She provided me with an email...

I remember in my early parenting days hearing moms complain that all their two year old would eat was hot dogs and spaghetti. I tried to picture the toddler shopping at the A & P and filling his cart with Hebrew National franks and Ronzoni pasta. Of course, I'm...
That title's a little misleading. I actually learned a lesson last week and had it reinforced by hearing a story about Lauren Bacall this week. I was invited to be included as part of a new web presence, which shall remain nameless, if I acted quickly and got in on...
Having coffee with coaching colleague Susie Horgan is always a dynamic experience. We get together every few months to touch base, compare notes and get inspired. But last Friday's meeting at Starbucks was particularly charged. We danced around current projects,...
I can think of two clients off the top of my head who are on the verge of major success. In both cases the work is impeccable--one an author, the other an interior designer. Each has done everything humanly possible to get her message out to the public. They have...
I received an email from one of my many creative clients who was suffering. She acknowledged that it was self-inflicted. She had just been online and found an artist's site she found enviable, which got her thoroughly depressed. The Internet makes it easier than...
