I’m used to seeing ads everywhere–I’m talking stair risers in subway stations as well as step-messages at Lincoln Center–

but this was a new low in my eyes. A guy I know walked into a meeting this morning carrying his cuppa along with this ad for Fashion Week luring my eye.
I over-dramatize, but, really? Are advertisers so desperate that we can’t even enjoy a sip of latte without their calling attention to the brand of nail polish you’re wearing? Really? Cup-holders? Mercy, please!

A few years ago I saw POM Wonderful Presents… The Greatest Movie Ever Sold at Hot Docs, and it was hilarious/fascinating… and the best part was, when we exited the theatre (this was a fancy opening screening of the festival), we were greeted by POM Wonderful ppl handing out free pomegranate juices! It made me laugh/it was perfect.
I wonder if there’s a tipping point on advertising.
@Jennifer
Yeah, the tipping point for me were the guys who shaved corporate logos on their heads. Better than a tattoo, but still! Thanks for this comment!
And here was was thinking that cheese slices would be the perfect place to advertise!!
