The Outstanding Susan Keane Baker and Kevin Carroll (Also Outstanding)

Susan Keane Baker

One of the things I admire most about Susan Keane Baker is that anything I ever receive from her is loaded with value. Today I got a request from her to help promote a speaking engagement she’s offering next week. She didn’t assume I’d accept, so didn’t attach her promotional material until I said “YES!”

Kevin Carroll

Then I received a brilliantly thought out and executed document which allowed me to share a 900 word description of the event, one at 600 words, another at 300, 250 and 100 words depending on the format I would be sending. What’s so wise about this is that, of course, I’m going to read every word, just to be sure I’m using the best copy.

She and Kevin will be presenting a talk called “Get Paid to Speak” in New Canaan on Tuesday, April 18th. They’ll be at the United Methodist Church,  165 South Ave, New Canaan, CT from 6-8pm.

It’s free, but you must register as seating is limited. Here’s a taste of what they’ll share that evening:

How to–

  • Get paid to travel to interesting locations and speak at conferences
  • Reduce your schedule in order to spend time with family
  • Retire and still have earned income

Audience members will receive the following, among other gems:

  • Sample letter to let people know of your availability for speeches.
  • Exact phone messages to leave for meeting planners to make them hire you.

I wrote back to Susan that I’m very sorry I can’t be there next week. I lead my Virtual Mastermind group that night. As always, Susan generously solved the problem by promising to send me the handout.

If you’ve ever thought about turning your expertise into paid speaking gigs, this is the place to be to get the inside scoop from two consummate pros. I’d be happy to send you any version of their blurb you’d like. To register, send an email to NSAConnecticut@gmail.com with New Canaan in the subject line.
