The fact that I’m just now posting at 8:21pm tells you something about how productive I was today. I wrote for at least five hours, though I don’t have a lot to show for it–maybe 3 more pages total. I’m revising Chapter 5, which is a particularly painful one to write. Facing those old demons again with today’s knowledge has me sympathizing with the protagonist (me), but still suffering watching her go through her learning curve.
I stayed inside most of the day, even though it’s glorious outside. I’ve created a nice writing nook for myself and got to the task promptly after breakfast. The only breaks I took were for preparing and eating my meals. Around 3pm I lay down for a
meditation/nap, but was woken by a phone call. I gave a couple of people the landline here because my cell does not receive any service. That’s a blessing. I’m prone to reading and responding to texts as quickly as they appear. Not having that option opens up more time for concentration and sticking to the task at hand.
At 4pm I went out exploring. I wanted to find a 12-step meeting in the area and located one in Tunbridge (not Turnbridge, which seems more correct) that started at 5pm. I use Waze to help me find places, but because of my remote location, I can’t count on her until I hit a main drag. Did I mention that the cabin I’ve rented is on Podunk Road? Not kidding! The funnier part of that is that my GPS voice pronounces it Po-DINK Road, which made me laugh the first time she said it.
I’m sleeping really well up in the loft atop the kitchen and bathroom area. It’s supposed to be in the 50’s tonight. There’s a cozy featherbed/duvet cover I get to snuggle under. Before I fall asleep I’ll watch about 20 minutes of First Monday in May, a documentary my sister and brother recommended about the Met Gala sponsored by Anna Wintour and Vogue Magazine.
I’m heading there now…
